NAT GEO x PRADA OCEANS

We were asked by our good friends at Anima Films to take on cinematography duties on this branded content series for Prada, produced by National Geographic. We spent three weeks filming stories exploring marine ecosystems across three continents. The goal was to create a consistently rich visual language that would take us on a journey through such varied landscapes.

We started in the wetlands of northeastern Italy, before moving to the ice fields of Greenland, and then onto the unmatched coral reefs of Indonesian Papua, which is the episode showcased on this case study. We collaborated with local crew to help realise our vision - both to keep our footprint to a minimum, and to take advantage of local knowledge and specialist skills such as underwater cinematography. We wanted our visuals to have a unique look yet maintain consistency throughout the locations, so we gave careful consideration to lens and camera selections, including specialist underwater equipment.

The series of films have run as sponsored ads online, and in total have generated in excess of 1M impressions.
